Ni Vanuatu Child

$29.00$35.00 $25.99$35.00

By Philp Groves

Pencil drawing of young child ( sex undeterminable) taking shelter from the sun in the shadows of a large banyan tree. I love the expression which seems both apprehensive and friendly. These  gentle people live in harmony with the land they occupy and have no need for money. Despite repeated attempts to “missionize”

them, most Ni Vanuatu hold on to their own distinct culture and traditions.

Product Description

Art Philip Groves, UK

Born in U.K. I was hired at age 17 by Lord Weymouth of Longleat to work on his murals. Came to U.S. at age 20 and got work to fund my art. I have worked as a profesional photographer, art director, creative director and owned a graphic design agency. All of my early artwork was destroyed by fire in 1978 ( see Mayall drawing for more info ) I paint when moved to and photograph things that interest me. I continually try to find new means of expression. I live in L.A. with my wife and two rescue mutts.
