Art by Monica Warhol, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania USA
Monica Warhol is a visual and graphic artist. While self-taught in many areas, she holds a BA in the arts from Point Park University in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and attended fine art classes at The Art Institute of Pittsburgh, and Pima College in Tucson, Arizona.
Monica is a relative of renowned artist Andy Warhol, yet her work is organic and original to her own flair, technique and style. She works in various media, including oil, ink, canvas, sculpture, silk screen and watercolors and her style is recognized as truly creative, edgy and trendy. Her vision as expressed in her art includes artistic, social, commercial and philanthropic themes blended in a unique style.
She understands the responsibility her name brings to her work as expressed by her own statement “I would not sign my name on my work if I didn’t understand the responsibility as well as feel it worthy. I love producing artwork that makes people think something or see things in a different way.”
“I love working. I never stop working. I never want to stop working. I surprise myself every day and never sure what I might find. I like to make things people enjoy. I love color, society, music, art, theater, light, dance, fitness, culture, food and emotion. I have been involved in art since I can remember thinking.”
Monica’s work was most recently exhibited at the Tucson Pop Festival that benefited various charities including the Tucson Children’s Museum.
